Project Íris

One of the concepts explored in this project focuses on these forms that cannot be touched... not being able to touch an Íris, many of us have never seen an iris, I am
talking about people with visual impairment, who cannot understand the complexity and unique organicity of an iris...

The Íris is part of the individual’s identity... nowadays this uniqueness is even used by technology as a signature.Light is the reason why the primitive eye was created,
it is through it that color and the perception of shapes travel...
The primitive eye would be just a small depression, such a simple and analogical
approach to nature to create a precious instrumentof navigation and orientation...

This simple depression allowed the detection of luminosity... And the first living organism endowed with this precious evolutionary leap could then move and orient itself based on this information...

Technique:
Digital sculpture, printed in a single piece in biodegradable and recyclable PLA

approximate dimensions of the piece:
900mm in diameter
300mm deep
